Privacy Policy

Last updated November 4, 2026

Sila (sila.sh) is a scrape and crawl API operated by Ton Nguyen. This policy explains what data the service handles and why.

Data we collect

  • Account data: your email address, workspace name, plan, and the sign-in method you use. API keys are stored only as hashes; we cannot see a key after it is created.
  • Usage data: counters such as credits used, scrapes and crawled pages per billing period.
  • Content you submit: target URLs, crawl settings, and webhook URLs and signing secrets.
  • Crawled page content: the markdown, HTML, signals and screenshots the service returns for the URLs you request.
  • Logs: request logs (timestamp, route, status, workspace) used to run, secure and debug the service.

How we use it

We use this data to authenticate you, run your scrapes and crawls, meter credits, deliver webhooks, send sign-in and service emails, bill paid plans, prevent abuse, and fix problems. We do not sell your data and we do not use advertising trackers.

Crawled content and retention

Crawl pages and errors are stored in Cloudflare R2 and deleted 14 days after a crawl finishes. Single-page scrape results are returned to you and are not kept after the response. Webhook delivery records are pruned on a rolling schedule. Account data is kept while your account exists.

Service providers

  • Cloudflare: hosting, Workers, D1 database, R2 storage, Browser Run (headless rendering) and email delivery.
  • Polar: payments, acting as merchant of record for paid plans. We do not see or store card numbers.
  • Google: optional sign-in with Google. We receive your verified email address only.

These providers process data on our behalf to deliver the service.

Deletion

You can delete your account in Settings. This removes your workspace, API keys and stored crawl data. Billing records held by Polar follow Polar's own retention and legal requirements.

Security

API keys are stored as hashes, webhook signing secrets are encrypted at rest, sign-in links are single-use and expire after 15 minutes, and all traffic uses HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit access to what operating the service needs.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, export or delete your personal data by emailing support@sila.sh. We will respond within a reasonable time.

Children

Sila is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced by email or in the dashboard, and the date above will change.
